Mozambique, Africa Tigerfish Fishing

THIS REMOTE FISHING LOCATION WAS OPENED IN DECEMBER OF 2016. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN A 5 STAR RESORT, THIS IS NOT A TRIP FOR YOU. IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN CATCHING TROPHY CLASS TIGER FISH ON A DAILY BASIS, THEN YOU NEED TO “WET YOUR LINE HERE!”

Camp is set on the banks of the Zambezi River in the mountains approximately 3 hours drive from the city of Tete, in the Tete Province of Mozambique. The camp is located right in the heart of the infamous Kebrabassa Rapids. The famous African explorer, David Livingstone, believed for many years that the Zambezi River was navigable and could open the interior of the continent to traders. After a six year campaign to navigate the lower Zambezi River, Mr. Livingstone and his team arrived at the Kebrabassa Rapids. Plans were to dynamite sections of the rapids creating a way to pass through the rapids by boat. Mr. Livingstone and crew came to accept the fact that no boat of any kind, at any time of the year, could navigate these waters. Mr. Livingstone named the mountain at the rapids Mount Stephanie after the young Portuguese Queen at the time. It was with a shattered spirit Mr. Livingstone returned to Tete and continued on to explore the Shire River. Today you can be thankful that back in 1851 the Kebrabassa Rapids halted those explorations and saved this pristine area and its tiger fishing for us to enjoy.
