Every once in a while we find a place that’s just hard to describe… It has been said that all of us visit a place at least once in life where we get to spend “fifteen minutes in glory”!  Wes’ first visit to Bendabout Farm occurred in 2007 and now he is very proud to be able to extend you the opportunity to do the same.

Bendabout Farm is approximately 4,000 private acres in Southeastern Tennessee.  Settled by the current owner’s family before the Civil War, its history, landscape and wildlife have been maintained and preserved since that time by this family who had the foresight to conserve this special place for future generations.  The original 1800’s stagecoach depot still stands on the property.  Well over 100 years has passed and the beautiful hardwoods, magnificent tall pines, streams and lakes continue to be professionally managed for wildlife habitat and nature conservation.

The main house is a true southern mansion, its guest houses, country ham smokehouse, carriage barn, and horse barns are perfectly maintained, lived in and utilized.  As a matter of fact Bendabout is a working horse farm that is home to several specialized breeds of horses.  One of these breeds being Polo horses, with Bendabout being a world renowned Polo ground having hosted numerous tournaments drawing worldwide competitors since 1972.

Quail Hunts

These hunts are conducted during January and February and limited to 10 hunts annually.

00062.jpgYour group of four hunters will arrive the evening before your scheduled hunt to shoot a round of clays, followed by cocktails, a relaxing dinner and comfortable evening accommodations.  Rise early the following morning for a traditional, down-home Southern breakfast before setting out on a true Southern plantation quail hunt. Guests will hunt from a beautiful custom-built wagon pulled by a team of champion mules or, if you prefer, from the saddle of a well-trained Tennessee walking horse. A freshly prepared hot lunch will be served in the field at the stagecoach depot or one of the pavilions on the property.  After a relaxing lunch break it's back to the hunting action.  In addition to the established Wild Quail population on Bendabout you will be hunting birds that are part of an annual September release program, and all of these birds flush and fly like the native wild Bob White Quail.
Your group's hunt staff will include world class bird dogs along with their trainer, highly experienced horsemen and the hunt master. All of which are dedicated to delivering  each member of your group the ultimate hunting experience.  Obviously these hunts are being offered on a very limited basis and are expected to be reserved fast. The cost is $5,000 for a group of 4 hunters **PLEASE NOTE** Each hunter is required to use a break open action shotgun.

Turkey Hunting & Fishing

These hunts are conducted in April and are limited to 5 hunts annually.

00133.jpgEvery Spring on Bendabout, the sound of turkeys gobbling can be heard throughout the property.
This is truly a paradise for those who want to hunt the Eastern Wild Turkey in an area that has very limited hunting pressure. Bendabout was one of the original stocking sites for Eastern Wild Turkeys in Tennessee and that population has exploded over the years.  There will be a very limited number of turkey hunts offered during the first two weeks of April. Each hunt will include two morning hunts and between hunts the guests can spend their time relaxing around the property or fishing.

Your hunt will begin with you and your hunting guest arriving the evening before the hunt for cocktails, a southern cuisine dinner and an opportunity to get acquainted with your guides. You and your guest will rise the next morning well before sun up for a hardy breakfast before slipping out to one of the many roosting areas to listen for the gobbling of a trophy long beard. Each hunter will be assigned a guide to help navigate the property and call, unless you prefer to test your own calling skills.  Several permanent blinds are built on the property in strategic areas, allowing you and your guide the perfect set-up to call that gobbler in for a shot.  After the morning hunt and a filling lunch, you and your guest will be taken to one of the many managed lakes on the property for an afternoon of fishing. Spring time at Bendabout is a great time to catch bass and bluegill. You will fish from a small yet comfortable boat equipped with an electric trolling motor and any equipment you may need for a successful day on a lake known not only for quantity, but quality of fish. That evening you and your guest will enjoy another fine Southern dinner and then off to bed to rest up for the next morning’s turkey hunt. The cost is $3,000 for a group of 2 hunters.

Dove Hunt

This hunt is conducted in mid to late September  annually and is limited to a maximum of 20 hunters for your private 1 day shoot.

Business associates, family and friends have been enjoying the annual dove hunt at Bendabout for many years and it has become a very important tradition not only because of the excellent dove shooting opportunity, but because of the overall experience that just can’t seem to be replicated anywhere else. For the first time ever a corporate dove hunt will be offered in mid to late September for up to 20 hunting guests. You will be hunting cut fields of sunflowers and millet that have been prepared to the specifications of state and federal authorities and managed to provide an absolutely first class dove shoot unrivaled by any property in this part of the country. You and your guests will be treated to refreshments in the field so each hunter does not have to miss a minute of this fantastic hunting experience. Once shooting time is over all the guests will be treated to cocktails and a Southern style fish fry with all the fixings at the outdoor pavilion located next to one of the many lakes on Bendabout. This is always a great time of fellowship and where many personal and business relationships are nurtured. The cost for a group of 20 hunters is $10,000 and includes refreshments, dinner and cocktails.
