ALTAI IBEX in MONGOLIA mon-a

Mongolia has many different vegetation zones: Taiga forest and mountain desert. That’s why Mongolia holds a great diversity of animal life. There are ideal habitats for Altai Ibex and Gobi Ibex; Altai, Hangay and Gobi Argali; Gazelle, Wolf, Maral, Moose, Brown Bear, Siberian Roe Deer and many others.
The Altai Ibex inhabit the Altai Mountains of Western Mongolia. The average trophy size is 39-45 inches, with a number of trophies taken in excess of 50-53 inches. This hunt can be combined with Siberian Roe Deer and Wolf.

Getting there
You fly to Ulaanbaatar (UB) through Bejing, China or Seoul of South Korea. You are met by our representative and assisted through customs and taken to a hotel. The next morning you fly by "Fokker 50" to western Mongolia and then are transferred to camp.

Hunting season:  The season is from the 1st  of June to the 15th of November.

The hunting is done on foot using jeeps for transportation to the hunting area or on horseback.  The Ibex are found in good numbers at 7,000-8,500 feet.  During the day you may travel the upper edges of the mountains, glassing the hillsides, feeding and resting areas.  You will spot Rams, evaluate their size and then make the stalk.

Camp
The camps are traditional Asian Ger or Yurts. They are warm, clean and comfortable with separate areas for dining, bathing and sleeping. Every camp has a cook and interpreter.  You will find very good food and quality service. Electricity is supplied by generator.

Weather
June through August are generally moderate with temperatures ranging between 50°F and 80°F.  Nights are always cool due to the high elevation.  Mongolia is known as a country with 255 cloudless days each year and as the Land of Blue Sky. Snow can be expected on the mountain tops during late September.

Itinerary

Day 1 Arrival in Ulaanbaatar (UB), check into hotel, adjust to the time. 
Day 2 Fly to Western Mongolia and transfer to camp by jeep.  Flight lasts for 3 hours. 
Day3-7 5 days of hunting 
Day 8 Fly back to UB, check into hotel 
Day 9 Departure 

* Flights to Khovd (Altai Ibex area) are served only on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

This price includes:
Meeting and dropping off at the airport, Mongolian Visa, all transportation to and from the hunting region, all transportation (jeeps and horses) in the hunting area, accommodation and food in the camp during the whole tour, lxl service of professional guide, and all serving staff including one interpreter per group/camp.


The price does not include:
Airline ticket to and from Ulaanbaatar, hotels and meals in Ulaanbaatar, alcohol, items of a personal nature, excess luggage payment charged by airlines, sightseeing program, the cost of any extra hunting days, non hunter fee, the cost of additional trophies, trophy shipment, tips, and $300 for license.  Export papers and gun permit are payable in Mongolia.

BOOKING AND PAYMENT
A 50% deposit is required to book your hunt.  FINAL PAYMENT is due 60 days prior to your hunt.
