These hunts are conducted on private ranches in the state of Sonora, approximately two hours drive north of the city of Hermosillo. For the most part the Sonora Desert is flat country covered with mesquite trees, cactus and brush. However, the area we hunt has rolling hills and the famous Sierra Madre Mountains with elevations up to 7,500 feet.

Our trophy Mule Deer, Couse Deer and Desert Bighorn Sheep hunts are guided "1x1" ( unless otherwise requested). All of our guides are highly qualified, very familiar with our hunting areas, excellent trackers, and judges of trophy quality.

Hunting methods include the use of spot and stalk, tracking, ground and tower blinds, as well as high"Rack" hunting vehicles.

Mule Deer and Couse Deer hunts are 6 full days hunting. These hunts are conducted in December and January.

All accommodations are in ranch houses, with full size beds, hot showers, toilets and a professional house keeping staff. All meals are home cooked by a full-time cook. Bottled water, soft drinks, beer and wine are provided.

All of our hunts include round trip ground transfers from Hermosillo airport, all hunting ground transportation, capping and skinning of your trophies. Desert Bighorn Sheep hunts are conducted in November, December, January and February. The length of hunt is discussed and agreed upon prior to booking your trip.

2009 Desert Mule Deer Season Report:

We had a total of 45 hunters from late December to early February.  Our success rate was 93%, our average score was 183 points with 24% of the bucks being 190 plus inches.  The larges buck taken scored 214 inches.  Our average spread was 29 inches and our widest was 35 inches.

Hunt Cost:

• Mule Deer hunts are 6 full days hunting "1x1" guided and cost $8,000.  Plus the cost of your non-resident license and gun permits (approximately $500 USD).
• Coues Deer hunts 6 days $ 3,500.
• Desert Bighorn Sheep hunts $40,000.

Note: Couse Deer can be added to Mule Deer hunts on a trophy fee basis. This normally costs $2,500 after shooting a buck. Combination hunts for all these species can be arranged. Please contact us for details and cost. Upon booking your trip all the necessary documentation for you to obtain your hunting license and gun permits will be provided by our office, and we will assist you in obtaining these permits.
