Spotlight on a Special Newfoundland, Canada Trophy Black Bear and Coyote Hunting Adventure

newfoundland-2009-02.jpgAre you looking for a real adventure?  Along with the opportunity to possibly take a world class trophy Black Bear!  Do you enjoy unique experiences and off the beaten path adventures?  If so, this could be the hunt for you. During 2007, 2008 and 2009 we conducted a very limited amount of guided hunts on the Woodland Caribou calving grounds of the Middle Ridge Herd in Southeastern Newfoundland.  Black Bear and Coyote predation on these Caribou calves continues to pose a major threat to the survival of the largest Woodland Caribou herd in the world.  You can help and enjoy what is possibly the most exciting Black Bear hunt on the planet.  This hunt is air access only via float plane or helicopter.  Hunters need to be in good physical condition as this hunt can entail lots of walking.  The hunt is restricted to rifle and black powder hunters, as you will be pursuing some very respectable predators in somewhat open country.

The hunt dates coincide with the peak of the Caribou calving season, beginning the first week of June and lasting until the end of June.  Approximate dates for June 2010 are May 30 to June 6; June 6-13; June 13-20; June 20-27.  It is very common for our hunters to kill Bear over 7 feet.

Amenities on these hunts are limited as we hunt from a fixed tent site and portable tent camps if need be.  Hunters will be expected to assist with essential camp chores if required.  Maximum of 4 hunters per hunt.

Experience has proved this to be a very exciting hunt for Black Bear.  In addition, hunters are allowed to and encouraged to shoot as many Coyotes as possible.  This hunt has been described by experienced Bear hunters as the most exciting Bear hunt in the world.

Total hunt cost includes hunting license, float plane or helicopter transfers to and from camp and all taxes $3,750.00.
