We are a husband and wife team focusing primarily on wildlife sculpture, but enjoy figurative sculpture as well. We specialize in life-size or larger works for zoos and private collectors. The works to date have mostly been large animals such as cheetahs, gorillas, gazelles, rhinos, hippos, and especially African lions. We have sculpted life-size pieces for the Toledo Zoo in Ohio, for the Riverbank Zoo in South Carolina and quite a number for the Audubon Institute in New Orleans. Greg Norman’s architectural team of Foley & Associates commissioned a monumental heron sculpture for his golf course on the gulf coast of Florida. That particular piece also functions as an enormous sundial, but the herons refuse to adjust to daylight savings time. Our works also reside at Bennington Center for the Arts in Vermont, the Wirt library in Bay City Michigan, in the private collection of August Busch III, and in numerous other collections locally and around the world.
We have a proposal for a life-size African elephant which is waiting funding. Hopefully we will be able to start this piece in the near future and this will obviously be the largest piece we have ever tackled. The largest to date has been the piece we did for the Greg Norman golf development in Florida that weighed about one ton. Lately our work has focused on North American animals such as bears, wolves and cougars as well as Native Americans.
The works of wildlife artists augment our individual experience of nature and lead us into an ever more profound exploration of her mysterious heart.
