Zimbabwe-aSeason March-December

We take great pride in being able to book safaris for one of the oldest names in the Zimbabwe hunting community, Roger Whittall Safaris, with 22 years in the safari business. This family and its reputation needs little to no introduction to most African hunters.

For those of you considering a safari to Africa for dangerous game and/or Plainsgame, or an excellent opportunity to combine both, Roger and his son Guy, who own Whittall Safaris should be seriously considered. They have two prime areas to offer, Humani and Chewore.

Humani Ranch

Attention Bow Hunters: Humani is a paradise with 30,000 acres being dedicated to bow hunting only since 1994. Waterhole hunting from tree stands and pit blinds combined with some of the best stalking bush in Africa offers the serious bow hunter excellent opportunities. Unlike "game farm", bow hunting ranches in other places, Humani has the "Old Africa" feel that draws bow hunters to their primal roots.

Zimbabwe-bCamps

Camps at Humani are both tented and thatched lodges. All camps have en suite bathrooms and spectacular settings.

Game Available on Humani

Leopard, Buffalo, Kudu, Burchell's Zebra, Blue Wildebeest, Bushbuck, Klipspringer, Warthog, Anteater, Porcupine, Honey Badger, Serval, Caracal, Impala, Bushpig, African Civet, Grey Duiker, Jackal, Baboon, African Wildcat, Lesser Genet, Spotted Genet, and Vervet Monkey.

Zimbabwe-eHumani Ranch is located in the South Eastern Lowveld of Zimbabwe. This concession area is approximately 130,000 acres located in the Save Valley Game Reserve. Humani was pioneered and settled in the early 1920s by Jimmy Whittall, Roger's father. Sheer willpower turned this vast tract of land into a successful cattle ranch back then, and this is where Roger was born.

Humani is no longer a cattle ranch. It is now a game reserve. The transformation was masterminded by Roger who started this project approximately 40 years ago. This climaxed in 1991 when Humani and 23 ranches joined forces and within a few years sold their cattle, tore down their fences and focused their efforts and attention solely on the bush and its wildlife.

Consequently 3,200 square kilometers of land now make up the Save Valley Reserve, the largest privately owned nature reserve in the world. Humani is home to Africa's Big Five Buffalo, Elephant, Leopard, Lion, and Black Rhino along with Wild Dog, Hippo and a host of other plains game animals roam freely here.
