For several years many of our clients and friends have asked: “Wes why don’t you have a good place to go Peacock Bass fishing?” Wes’ response has been, “I’ve never been able to ‘Hook up’ on anything that I felt was solid.” Well, we have finally set the hook on a keeper. Through a chain of events, Wes and a family friend of approximately 30 years have teamed up to offer you a great place to enjoy fishing for trophy class Peacock Bass on the upper Rio Negro River and its tributaries. A young man by the name of Charles Hammontree, Jr., is the son of Wes’ long time bass fishing friend Charles “Bud” Hammontree. A few years ago Charles, Jr. married a beautiful young lady from Venezuela. Charles met Carolina while she was in college here in the United States. Charles and Carolina currently live in Venezuela.

The old expression “the fruit don’t fall far from the tree” is esdscn0531.jpgpecially true in this case. Having grown up fishing, Charles’ love for the sport had him Peacock fishing in Venezuela and Brazil in no time. Soon the name Charles Hammontree, Jr. grew to be very popular in Peacock Bass fishing circles. Having won several national and international Peacock Bass fishing championships, Charles started designing and building Peacock Bass fishing lures. His company “Caribe Lures” has grown to be a popular choice among serious Peacock Bass fishing circles. During this time Charles has fished with many of the outfitters in Brazil. Having selected two of the best boats in Brazil, Charles has introduced Wes to the owner of these two boats and now Wes is happy to represent both of these boats. Currently, all of our trips are escorted by Charles and or Wes. Each group of guests will be escorted either from the United States or met upon arrival in Manaus, and accompanied until departing Manaus or upon re-entry to the United States.
