Black Bear Hunts

This is one of the very few areas left that allows a hunter to shoot 2 Bears annually in the Spring and in the Fall seasons. For those of you interested in taking a cinnamon, blonde, chocolate or black color phase of this trophy, this hunt offers you an outstanding opportunity.

img_1197.jpgHunts for the most part are conducted over bait. However, spot and stalk methods are also used. This is an excellent bow or gun hunt, or better yet, take your bow and your gun and take a Bear with each. These hunts are conducted from a modern lodge that has four guest bedrooms and two bathrooms with showers. Two bedrooms have queen size beds and two bedrooms have double beds.

This is a perfect family or couples trip. We can comfortably accommodate 6 guests per hunt. Most bait sites are reached via 4-wheel drive trucks and ATVs. Hunts include: Meals, lodging, guides, airport transfers, trophy skinning and preparation for your trip home. Note: A maximum of six hunters are allowed on each hunt.

Geese, Ducks and Grouse Hunts

The Peace River area is one of (if not) the finest destinations on the North American Continent to shoot Geese and Ducks, especially Giant Canadian Honkers! The Peace Valley had hundreds of square miles of dsc00396.jpggrain and wheat fields. Since this area is the first large agriculture area on the migration route south, it is a major fall resting and feeding ground for Geese and Ducks. Also it's the "first area" they encounter decoy spreads, calls, pits and blinds.

Hmm... How long has it been since you have hunted waterfowl that's not call or decoy wise? Spruce and Ruffed Grouse numbers are also very high in this area. Each hunter is allowed to shoot 8 Geese, 8 Ducks and 10 Grouse daily. We have been exclusive agents for Larry Smith since 1986 and have plenty of references for you to speak with.

Every trip includes: Meals, lodging, guides, dogs, airport transfers and more! Our season is short therefore openings are limited. Better give us a call and start practicing your Honkin'!! Note: A maximum of six hunters are allowed on each hunt.

2012 Hunt Dates:  September 10 - October 25 - call for availability
2012 Hunt Cost: A 3-day hunt cost $ 2,100 p.p. plus a 2 1/2% GST tax.

Whitetail and Mule Deer Archery and Gun Hunts

These hunts are conducted on approximately 18,000 private acres. Hunting is done from enclosed heated tower blinds, enclosed heated ground blinds, hay bale blinds, and portable tree stands. You will hunt on agriculture fields and pipelines planted in alfalfa, clover, peas and rye. Travel corridors between feeding and bedding areas are also hunted, in addition to spot and stalk and glassing canyons.

Alberta's reputation for producing big Whitetails is well known. However, our area consistently produces big Mule Deer bucks as well. This is one of the few places left under fair chase conditions where a hunter can harvest both bucks on the same hunt.

A maximum of 4 bow hunters and 4 gun hunters are booked per hunt. Hunts include: Meals, modern lodging, airport transfers, field care and preparing your trophies for delivery to your taxidermist.

Our dsc00593.jpg2012 Archery Mule Deer and Whitetail deer hunts take place August 25 ~ September 23, hunts are seven hunting days and cost $4,900 plus 2 1/2% GST tax and a trophy fee of $1,500 after shooting each Deer.

A word to the wise; this hunt is for the hearty adventurer; you will hunt from a very remote wilderness tent camp. The camp has wood floors, wood walls and heaters. All bedding, meals, guides and snow machines are furnished.

You will travel miles of snow machine trails daily checking bait locations. Once your baits are being hit, you and your guide will still hunt mornings and evenings from an enclosed canvas tent blind. These hunts are very successful.

Each hunter is allowed to take two Wolves. Winter trap lines will be set in this area and you will be welcome to run the trappers' line with them if you would like.

Hunt Dates: In February and March annually.
2012 Hunt Cost: A 5-day hunt is $3,500 plus 2 1/2% GST tax and a $500 trophy fee after shooting each Wolf.
